During our weekly meetings at 142 Productions, we like to bring some video inspiration into the mix. Whether it’s a video ad one of us saw the day before, a TikTok someone stumbled upon, or an old TV commercial we can’t get out of our head – it’s a fun way to stay on top of video trends and see what makes certain videos stand out to other people.
Here were some of the videos from this week:
Duncan’s Video: Kmart “Ship My Pants” Commercial
What We Like About It: Duncan picked this old Kmart commercial because it was funny and stood the test of time. He still thinks about this despite the fact that it came out in 2013 and Kmart has been officially closed since 2018.
Marina’s Video: IKEA “Let Play Unwind Your Mind” TV Ad
What We Like About It: Marina picked this IKEA ad because it actually caught her attention while watching TV. Not only does IKEA always have really fun ads, but they’re subtle, too. It doesn’t feel like a furniture ad, but IKEA’s iconic price labels pop up once or twice to trigger brand recognition.
Kristen’s Video: Japp Swedish Chocolate Commercials
What We Like About It: Kristen shared this compilation of commercials for a Swedish chocolate bar. She thought the ads were funny and they clearly worked – she ordered a few of the chocolate bars to try herself. Don’t worry, she also brought some to the studio to share.
