The Video Production Process

At 142 Productions, we understand that no one knows your business better than you do. We want to make sure that your video delivers its message to its target audience effectively, so having your input throughout the video production process is essential.

Here we’re going to break everything down and go through the steps we take to create your video and ensure it reaches its highest potential.

Step: 1 Proposal

Most businesses don’t think about all the different types of videos there are, just that they need a video.

But the first step to getting your video created is to determine what kind of video you actually need. The easiest way to do this is to both think about what your goals are and where your target audience is in the sales funnel.

For example, does your client already know who you are? Do they need instructions on how to use your product? Are they familiar with your business but need a third party testimony to convince them to make a purchase?

After discussing the details, we’ll develop a proposal that will explain what we think it will take to get your video “in the can,” and we’ll present it to you for your approval before the work begins.

Step: 2 Preproduction

The next (and arguably most important) step is preproduction. This is where we write the script and come up with breakdowns and a shot list. Every step taken during preproduction ensures that your video ends up being exactly what you expected.

Step 3: Production

This is when the filming starts. We use high definition cameras along with professional audio and lighting equipment to achieve the best look for the video. With our attention to detail and years of experience, we make sure to get the perfect shot.

Step 4: Post Production

Once we’re done filming, it’s time to get to work editing. We use top of the line software to splice footage as well as add graphics and music. We also make sure we’re collaborating with you throughout the process.

The first cut, or rough cut, is presented for review so we can make any necessary tweaks or adjustments before moving onto the final cut.

Step 5: Delivery

After the final cut is approved the video is yours! The delivery method can be anything from uploading it to your website, sending it to a TV station, or sharing it on your social media accounts. An extra master copy will be delivered to you as well to keep for your own records.
