Case Study: PBPD Holiday Hijinks Video

Gaining over 30,000 organic views in two weeks, Palm Bay Police Department’s 2023 holiday video was quite a hit. For the third year in a row, 142 Productions has worked with PBPD to create their annual “Holiday Hijinks” video. The goal of this video is to always create a festive and fun story that everyone can enjoy. Through their annual campaign, we were able to build off of an existing storyline with returning characters and effectively reach engaged members of the community.

The video shows two returning PBPD police officers helping out their friend, Santa, to make sure his Christmas Eve deliveries continued on without a hitch – this time, it involved wrangling some of his mischievous helpers who were running loose around the city.

The Solution:

Due to the overwhelmingly positive reaction from the community, this campaign naturally evolved from a one-time holiday video in 2020 and into a developing story. 

This year, we even leaned into some pop culture in addition to classic holiday favorites. Hitting that nostalgia button with your audience is always a good strategy for community engagement and having a developing story that develops year after year, helps keep your audience invested.

As part of PBPD’s strategy, they promoted the previous year’s video both online and at the City of Palm Bay’s seasonal Movies in the Park screenings. They then released this year’s continuation on social media at 7:00 pm on Christmas Eve where families could watch it together in anticipation of Christmas morning.

The Results:

An effective holiday campaign with significant organic reach.

Overall, the video performed around 1000% better than some of the other better-performing video content on their Facebook page. It was also all organic – which is even more impressive. Organic reach is essential to strengthening a group of loyal followers and customers through posting relevant content and interconnecting with those who connect with your brand.
