Client: Candlelighters of Brevard, Inc.
Types of Video: Highlight Video and “Movie Trailers”
Candlelighters of Brevard is a non-profit organization offering emotional support and financial assistance to local children with cancer and their families. They provide around 20 different programs and services that help with the financial and emotional stress of pediatric cancer.
They also host a number of events and experiences in order to provide light amid the darkness that comes with battling a life-threatening disease. One of these experiences is their Superhero Suit Up Campaign.
What is Superhero Suit Up?
This project started three years ago and it showcases some of the children of Candlelighters dressed up as their favorite superheroes. But it’s a little more elaborate than just a day of playing with costumes.
Superhero Suit Up is a two-part campaign. For the first part, the kids get to come in, get into their superhero gear, and go through an entire photoshoot. They truly get to feel like a superhero.
Where We Come In
All of us at 142 Productions worked closely with the Candlelighters team to film these photoshoots from a behind-the-scenes angle and create individual videos for each kid.
Then comes the second part of the project – the reveal party.
Candlelighters hosts a big Hollywood-themed premier for all the kids at The Oaks movie theater. They rent out a whole theater just for the families and the kids even get to walk the red carpet.
Then they get to watch all five “making-of” videos on the big screen and each kid’s superhero movie poster is finally revealed.
The 142 Productions crew also attended the premiere party so we could put together a highlight video of the event, which Candlelighters then released on social media as a wrap-up to their 2021 Superhero Suit Up Campaign.
The purpose of this whole campaign is to raise the kids up and give these families a fun event to look forward to and attend.
We had such a good time working on these videos and helping bring these superhero dreams to life. These kids really are heroic and we’re glad we got to be a part of such a fun and meaningful project.
